Rog and Phil would occassionally bump into each other at open mic nights, Rog would be playing and singing on his own, Phil would be playing instrumentals along with his self made backing tracks-

until one day they bumped into each other again 

in Weatherspoons one lunchtime!

Rog was looking for someone to record and help arrange and produce a few songs he had written and Phil was looking for someone to help with lyrics and vocals for stuff he had been working on.

Work was started, and before long it became apparent that something quite creative was happening between them!

As well as working on creating original material they found that they shared a similar taste in music , worked on playing a few covers, and both enjoyed playing together.

 

WOOD FOR THE TREES was the name chosen for the partnership!

 

Rog is now retired from full time work

Phil is a full time Student at Staffordshire University (Music Technology)
